The Knights of Columbus is a global Catholic fraternal service order founded by Father Michael J. McGivney on March 29, 1882. The organization’s principles are rooted in charity, unity, and fraternity. Father McGivney, along with a group of parishioners, established the Knights of Columbus with the intent of providing financial aid and assistance to sick, disabled, and needy members and their families. Their mission was to empower Catholic men to live out their faith in various aspects of life: at home, in their parish, at work, and within their community
